Krombacher Spezi Cola-Orange Mix

A classic German drink, this was a gift from my good friend rudolf, brought over from Germany, during our latest excursion to Amsterdam. As the name implies, Spezi is a mix between a standard cola, and a standard orangeade and this comes through in the flavour. Both flavours are comparable to supermarket own-brand drinks, but they come together as more than the sum of their parts. A very refreshing drink. Flavour is not too strong or too sweet. imagine it'd go down well in the summer. I'm informed that returning the can would net the drinker 25c, however rudolf wasn't interested in taking the can back across the border.

Coke Zero Oreo

When I saw this interesting proposition talked about online, I have to admit my curiosity was piqued. I went into Coke Zero Oreo completely blind, although I'll admit I was sceptical that such a combination would work. I was pleased to discover, however, that it was actually fairly enjoyable. The Oreo flavour is extremely subtle and I imagine this works in it's favour. I detected absolutely nothing oreo in the smell, but the taste was quite remarkable in it's similarity to the real thing. I honestly could even be convinced that a real oreo cookie had been dissolved into the drink.
The dark cocoa flavour is certainly present as well as some of the more biscuit-y baked flavours, and the filling was accounted for too with what I assume is a very light artificial vanilla.
I don't think this could ever become a staple, but as an experience it's certainly worth a try.

Pepsi Electric

Didn't know what to expect here, and meeting these expectations, Pepsi Electric tastes genuinely unique. It's shed most of it's family resemblance and doesn't taste of Pepsi very much. I would describe the drink as "Perfumed" in a similar way that Dr Pepper is, not that it tastes like Dr Pepper.. It tastes blue, somehow. The one comparison I can think of is to the short lived Coca-Cola energy drink, although I doubt many of you tried that. Finally, and most subtly there is a definite citrus, but it's not in the foreground, presenting mostly on the nose and as an after taste. I felt I perceived a slight bubble gum at first sip, but I could be imagining it because of the colour.
Will drink again

Tango Dark Berry

I was sceptical of this one. As someone who doesn't particularly enjoy the flavour of blueberries or their close relatives, I didn't think this would be to my tastes. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it contained neither of these. What it does taste like is the apple and blackcurrant squash that, if you share at least one demographic with me, you'll have surely had as a child. I checked the ingredients, Apple 3%, Blackcurrant 2%.
All that being said, the flavour is not overly sweet, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Monster Ultra Strawberry Dreams

This book defied the judgements I'd made based on its cover, and unfortunately the expectations were high. Ultra Strawberry Dreams tastes of almost nothing apart from its well known cousin Monster Ultra White. I was confused enough by this, and because I've had problems tasting certain strawberry flavouring compounds before, that I actually googled to see if anyone had had similar experiences to me. It seems the resounding opinion is that yes, the strawberry flavouring is extremely subtle. Many compared this drink to Ultra White and Ultra Rosa "with a hint of strawberry". I like neither of these drinks, so lets just say...

Tango Cherry Blast

Part of the same series of Limited Drops as Raspberry Blast, Cherry Blast is a different story entirely from it's brighter coloured brethren. The more astute among you, I'm sure, may have already had your curiosity piqued by the fact that Tango already has a Cherry flavoured drink. The flavour differs slightly, tasting more artificial and candy like. Unlike its sibling though, Cherry Blast is pleasant. Certainly worth a try.

Tango Raspberry Blast

Released as a so-called "Limited Drop", Tango Raspberry Blast is a shocking artificial blue. Unfortunately, the taste matches the colour, an almost undrinkable, toxic tasting concoction. There is certainly a raspberry flavour, similar to that of the worst type of candy you've ever tried. Tastes like the cyberpunk aesthetic looks. Bad.
